Prayer for Revival

“We need to pray for revival,” urged one of the women in our church.  We all set the alarms for 9:00 PM on our phones to remind us of our resolve to get on our knees and desperately cry out to God every night.  We need a change within ourselves and long for more spiritual children to raise-up in the faith.  It is exciting watching and participating in this realization that everything starts from God.  Families are coming together to pray and needs are being lifted up; God is doing a work from the inside out.

In order to grow a healthy reproducing church we must raise-up and empower leaders.  Oscar shared how his people, the Mayans living in present day Guatemala, were duped into trading masses of gold for inexpensive items that intrigued them such as mirrors.  He realizes the enemy has done the same in his life – swapped the valuable, what is truly precious out of his hands as he has been distracted by things of much lesser value.   Wanting to change that, Oscar asked Chad to teach him more about the Bible.  Oscar and Chad now meet every week to read through the Bible, pray and share the real gold of life – Jesus and our relationship with Him.  God is calling Oscar to Himself.  Oscar has answered that call.

Fabiola has been taking an aerobics class at the park to develop more and deeper relationships with the women in the community.  One day after the class Fabiola noticed that one of the ladies had hurt her foot.  She asked if she could pray for her.  A few days later the lady made a bee-line for Fabiola and thanked her for praying.  She shared how her foot no longer hurt; she had been healed!  We want to see more.  We want to be used for God’s glory – doing things that we cannot claim credit for because it is so obviously a “God thing.”

The other day two white doves flew down from the sky and landed on the ledge next to our front door (see picture).  As a symbol of God’s peace and blessing we receive the ‘double’ anointing symbolized by their visit and look with anticipation as we cry out to God for more salvations, more restored relationships between couples and between parents and their children.  We proclaim the peace that comes to all by grace and sets the addicted and tormented completely free.

Will you believe with us and stand with us in prayer this month for a real and lasting change in the lives of the individuals and ripples and waves to impact this entire community – even reaching into the many nations represented here?  We need your support in prayer.  Apart from Christ we can do nothing.  He has given us you as friends – as family in Christ – to lift up our hands as we continue to intercede and serve these difficult and broken communities in South Central Los Angeles.

Come be a part of something amazing!  God is so going to do something big – even BIGGER than we can think or imagine!
