Leaving a Legacy

World Impact missionaries are leaving a legacy.  There are second and third generations that have been impacted by the incarnational ministry of World Impact.  As a family we have only been missionaries with World Impact for four years, but for 12 years before we were financially supporting missionaries and praying for the various ministries.  We know that doors have been opened to us because this hard ground has been softened by those who have gone before us.

Since moving into the South Park neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles and now continuing to grow a church that we have planted here it is amazing how many times we have come in contact with people that have interacted with other World Impact missionaries in the past.

Alma and her two daughters were invited to our church by a friend that has recently given her life to Jesus.  In talking with the family we found out that another missionary family had shared the gospel with them some six years ago.  We ask that you would pray with us that this seed that has been sitting dormant would now produce fruit as not only Alma and her daughters return to church, but give their lives who-heartedly to Jesus and bring others that need Jesus into this house of faith.

We would love to see everyone we share the gospel with come to know Jesus immediately.  We pray that they would.  However, that has not been the reality.  Yet, we know what many have thrown away as trash – lives that people say are not valuable – can be turned into instruments that will make the most beautiful music ever imaginable.  Young ladies that come from families where selling yourself for money is seen as a reliable way to provide for the needs of your children are now addressing the youth of our church about purity and waiting until they are older to pursue a dating relationship.

We recognize that our impact here is contingent upon the prayers that have been prayed as well as the prayers that are continually lifted up on our behalf as well as for Alma and the thousands like her that await a follow-up visit, a clear gospel presentation or practical love and acceptance.

We are here, everyday, doing just that.  As Christ fills us up we are sharing His life with others.  We are evangelizing door-to-door, through outreaches at the park both big and small and through our tutoring program we are reaching more teens, children and their parents.  This month we are training up 10 more youth and adults in our church to be teachers in our Sunday school program.  We can see another church to be planted on the horizon…please join us in prayer that this community and many others will be saturated with God’s love and truth so that the soil might continue to reap a plentiful harvest.

Praising God for your participation in this amazing thing He is doing through us,

Chad & Fabiola
