We just
finished our iServe Missions Week - an amazing nine days of radical love poured
out on our community. We introduced Jesus to others through practical service, sharing
the Gospel message and our personal stories of salvation, music, a week of sports
ministry, relationships and food in a combination of events out in the park, in
homes and at our church. Phew…we are exhausted! Both our family and our church know and feel
that we have been lifted up in prayer by many people around the globe and want
to encourage you that those prayers are being answered as people respond to the
Gospel, are healed, and set free. Let’s
keep praying!
Crouching
down beside a very young mother, one of the ladies from our church plant shared
her story of how Christ took her out of alcoholism and depression and then
prayed with the woman. We spent the day
with her children teaching them about Jesus.
Another
woman, out of desperation and despair in her darkness, came to Christ and has
now spent time with our church being comforted, ministered to and is growing in
faith and character. She reached out to
the family she sees every week at the laundromat and made sure everyone of them
knew that God is real and that He desires a relationship full of love and
forgiveness with each one of them.
We prayed
with people for freedom from fear, addictions, sin and know that God has
answered those prayers. We were able to
teach and empower people to share their gifts and their unique God story with
people – our church is growing stronger and larger. Maybe our church should have several thousand
people in it by now – if we went by the number of people we have shared with,
but the reality is many people do find their way back into the drugs, alcohol,
violence and pain – a life far from God.
Our heart breaks for the city and these people. We know God died for them! The grace of God is
too amazing for many to accept – if only they could earn God’s love they
think. Please pray for people’s hearts and
minds that they may have spiritual eyes that see and ears that hear the
truth. Pray, too, for our endurance –
that as a family of five we may continue to minister and raise up this next
generation of world changers.
This is
our month of summer camps. We are
sending three groups of children/youth to camp this year and ask that you would
pray for them to have a lasting, life-altering experience with God that affects
their mind, their heart and their whole being.
We are believing for powerful transformations in their lives and deep
relationships forged between the groups of kids too. Later in August we will take our entire
church up to camp for a weekend retreat.
Soak this event in prayer. We are
believing that deep healing and restoration will take place. New paths will be laid for huge victories in
the lives of these families during that weekend. Please also pray that the men who have not
been coming to church will join their families and connect with God.
Chad,
Fabiola, Rebecca, Justice and Beniah
