Summer has
drawn to an end, but the fruit of this busy season is good and sweet and will
continue to produce a harvest. This
month we would like to share some of the highlights:
Evangelism & Outreaches: We had four outreaches
in our community and literally thousands of people heard the gospel preached
and saw it acted out before their eyes. We continue to cast the gospel seed and
train-up others to do likewise. This
year we were able to release at least 6 individuals into key responsibilities
during these events. It was powerful
watching them be stretched, blossom and succeed.
Increased Discipleship and Leadership Training: We have been able to
press deeper into our vision to train-up on-fire Christians to be released to
minister in ways and places we personally cannot.
A variety
of one-on-one meetings and handing over more responsibilities to those that are
growing up in our church has been a big focus of the last few months. One man in our church would gladly meet every
day. He says, “I know a couple hours
have passed by, but it feels like mere seconds…I just want more of God and more
time to learn about Him.”
Summer Camps: We took 8 children, 5 youth
and 2 adults (counselors) to summer camp this year. Our children and youth broke through many barriers
of feeling unwanted and unaccepted and confronted their fears. Our theme this year was “Time to Trust”.
One of
our boys was scared of heights, but he soared high on our high ropes course and
came down feeling like a real champion. He had to trust those that were holding his ropes.
He was spurred on by the encouragement
of his friends. He got an image of what
it means to trust in the Lord and how the church is meant to function.
One of
the girls walked into the archery range with tears streaming down her
face. She has dealt with rejection at
school and at home and generally just wants to hide and disappear. One of the counselors came up along side of
her and showed her how to correctly shoot the arrow. After a few shots she hit a bull’s eye and
started smiling. The next shot she
actually split the other arrow with a second bull’s eye. Later she hit a third. She was ecstatic. We asked her to coach other campers. While very able, she had always withdrawn to
the shadows instead of stepping up and leading or helping others, but this day
she was smiling from ear to ear and really helping the others. She made a difference.
Thank you for making a difference. Your prayers and financial support carry us
and enable us to reach and train so many amazing people. One day, when we are all in heaven together,
you will get to meet these amazing people too.
Please continue to press into prayer for our family, our church and all
the many more that we will shower with God’s love in the coming months.
Chad, Fabiola, Rebecca and Justice
