Youth. The youth leaders at our church plant, Jim and Norma,
have been able to make some great inroads into the local high school. They had a lunch meeting with about 70
students at the launch of Christian club they are helping a teacher lead. Also
Andres, one of our middle schoolers, has been sharing his faith at school and
inviting his friends out to different church outings.
·
Prayer. We spent the last month teaching more about prayer in
our mid-week Bible studies. While
everyone had heard of prayer it was surprising how few practiced it or
understood its relevance and importance.
Ken, one of our youth, shared how he felt more connected to God while
praying after the lesson on prayer. He
had never experienced God that way before and was very excited. While teaching the adults, Gabriella shared that
her biggest desire in her life was to grow more in God. These lives being brought closer to God are
answers to our prayers.
·
The Kingdom of God belongs to these. Some of our little toddlers are starting to worship
and pray too! Little Alex (2 years)
arrives to church with his dad every Sunday and prays at their seat before
going to his classroom. Once in the
class his favorite thing to do is pray.
Alex’s dad publically gave thanks to us for helping him teach his son
what is truly important. Little Sophia,
also 2 years old, loves to worship God.
Her little smile lights up everyone’s face when we sing. She has hand and body motions she does to
worship Jesus and knows the lyrics to many of the songs we sing.
Please pray with us for:
·
Men’s Retreat. Friday
– Sunday, June 8-10
A weekend to challenge the men to take
responsibility for their faith and families.
Pray for a great turn out and changed lives.
·
Outreaches. As students are beginning their summer breaks
we are gearing up for a busy season of outreach in the park. Pray that many would commit their lives to
Jesus and the local church.
·
Beach day. June 23
Family fun in the sun and surf….food, fellowship,
worship and a bonfire at the end of the day.
We are also hoping to baptize some new believers that day too.
We
are so grateful for you financial and prayer support. Thank you for teaming up with us as we
minister to the urban poor in Los Angeles.
Together we are impacting the world one individual at a time.
